Le Cercle Fermé

Organization name = Le Cercle Fermé

Formed in secret in the early history of the Royaume de Galifar, Le Cercle Fermé was a group of magicians that sought out the forbidden mysteries of the Daelkyr and the Dragon d'En-dessous. Le Cercle Fermé was destroyed in 641 AR by the combined forces of L'Ordre Ésotérique d'Aureon, La Guilde des Étoiles et des Ombres, and the Église de la Flamme d'Argent.

Notable Members

Most of the members of Le Cercle Fermé have been Perdu to the annals of time, with two exceptions:

  • Mordain le Tisseur de Chair took up the studies of Le Cercle Fermé, though it is unclear if he did so during the Circle's existence or afterwards.
  • Chyrassk, ruler of a sect of the Dragon d'En-dessous, has been learning mysteries from the remnants of Le Cercle Fermé, and giving them to his followers.

The Closed Circle. There is one dark stain in the shared history of the arcane orders. Three hundred years ago, a third order arose in Sharn-a sinister cabal called the Closed Circle. This order specialized in transmutation and necromancy and dabbled in the forbidden lore of the daelkyr and the Dragon Below. It's said that the members of the Closed Circle went mad and sought to summon terrible things; whatever the truth, the guild was wiped out more than two hundred years ago by the combined action of the Church of the Silver Flame, the Esoteric Order, and the Guild of Starlight and Shadows. Hidden workshops of the Closed Circle might still be found in Sharn, where vengeful liches or other wizards of the Circle practice their dark arts in hiding.
