Histoire

Many duergar belonged to the Akiak civilization of the Paqaa Mountains in northern Sarlona. The Akiak were an integrated community of Nains and duergar who were adept at shaping metals and crystals found in the mountains.

The Akiak Nains and duergar were hired by the Inspiré of Riedra to construct the Monolith Quorienen, which they now use to subtly control the populace of Riedra. To maintain the secret of the construction of these monoliths, the Akiak were betrayed by the Inspiré in an event known as the Night of Razor Dreams.

Now most of the duergar of Sarlona toil in underground mines of Riedra as slaves of the Inspiré hidden from sight, or roam as refugees in mobile camps in the southern Toundra de Tashana.
