**Trou Noir** is a village in northern [[brelande|Brelande]] in an isolated valley in the [[les_pointes_noires|Les Pointes Noires]]. The village is named after the geological anomaly beside which it lies, an enormous black hole, which locals believe leads to [[:khyber|Khyber]] itself. Horrible sounds and vapors eminate from the chasm, and those brave or foolish enough to try to scale the walls have encounters monsters which inhabit its cave-riddled slopes.

The village is a depressing shambles and a mix of poor examples of architecture from across [[:khorvaire|Khorvaire]]. It is home to thieves, murderers and [[:other|]] refugees from all the [[cinq_nations|Cinq Nations]]. There is a thriving black market there.

BLAC K PIT
A massive chasm in the Les Pointes Noires, the Black
Pit is over a mile across and descends beyond the limits
of sight. It's said to be an entrance to the abyss of
Khyber, and foul creatures live among the caves that
honeycomb its walls. A nearby village-also called Black
Pit-provides a haven for deserters and other criminals
as well as a thriving black market.
If you have shady friends, you've likely heard of Black
Pit's reputation as a place to quietly "disappear." Similarly,
if you have ties to the King's Lanternes Sourdes, you
know where to find some of Breland's worst criminals.
Nouvelle Cyre
What began as a refugee camp has evolved into a struggling
town hosting thousands of Cyran refugees. Prince
Oargev holds court in Nouvelle Cyre, considering himself a
king in exile. Though resources are scarce, Nouvelle Cyre
remains a symbol of hope for many refugees. It's also a
last stop for those determined to explore the Les Terres des Lamentations.
Black Pit: A terrible crack in the earth, Black Pit seems to lead to the darkest depths of Khyber itself. The great chasm can be found in a secluded valley in the Blackcap Mountains, where toxic vapors rise from deep within the gaping hole. Fearful sounds accompany the foul vapors, as though the depths themselves were writhing in pain and torment. Some have tried to descend into Khyber using Black Pit, but the sheer walls of the chasm are treacherous and deadly creatures are said to inhabit the caves that honeycomb the pit walls.

A small village sits at the edge of Black Pit. It is a dreary, desolate place, where despair hangs in the air as thick and toxic as the vapors rising out of the chasm. Here, all manner of thieves, murderers, and deserters from the war gather to hide and live. A thriving black market exists in the village of Black Pit (which names itself after the nearby chasm), where those who have stolen great items of power often come to hole up until those hunting them lose interest.
