Samyr Kes established the [[:order_of_miron_s_tears]], so named for the tears [[:tira]] shed when assigning him his task, and acts as the leader of this secretive order of sacred assassins that roots out corruption within the [[:eglise_de_la_flamme_d_argent]].

Samyr Kes is ancient, even for an [[:elfe]], and has lived for 777 years. He is sustained by his [[:couatl]] patron the [[:golden_serpent]], the [[:flamme_d_argent]], and his enduring love for [[:tira_miron]] as expressed by his duty to fulfill the final task she gave him.

His sacred gifts obscure his presence from all who might see him.

Keith Baker suggests that Samyr Kes was an Avenger, and a member of the adventuring party that traveled with [[:tira_miron]] to establish the [[:eglise_de_la_flamme_d_argent]].
